Anonymous asked: You and your boyfriend are the most attractive couple I've ever seen. It kills me! Make music together and I'd die!

That’s a bloody big call! Thanks!

It would be fun to work together, but he doesn’t even sing in front of me, let alone with me. Bug him. Maybe it’ll get to him eventually…

Last night I dreamt that I was dreaming, and when I woke up, I was standing atop a towering solid structure, looking out over the Giza Necropolis and the rising moon.

Anonymous asked: I think you should put your faith on God.

No, thank you.

Anonymous asked: is there anywhere to download your music??

You can download one of my songs free here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Tess-Van-Deyk/181482208623389?sk=app_178091127385

And I’ve just started using Soundcloud, where I’ve just uploaded a rough little iPhone recording tonight. You can find that here: https://soundcloud.com/tess-van-deyk

Thanks so much!

So I recorded a quick little tune on my iPhone today.

12 February, 2013

There has to be a famous quote out there about the way contentedness dulls the creative mind and fattens it up with a nice thick layer of complacency, but I can’t think of one.

I’ve been away from my house and my life in the city since Christmas. I’m living south of Sydney, in the mountains, spending my days caring for my Mum who has once again fallen ill to degenerative disc disease.

Whilst it’s an unfortunate situation for Mum, I must (perhaps a little guiltily) admit that I have no qualms about the change of pace and scenery. It’s a wonderful excuse to spend a lot of time alone, and even better, to spend a lot of time alone in nature.

Through all of this (despite a few half-assed attempts to be creatively productive) I’ve neglected an outlet I usually cannot live without, mostly because I’ve been unable to finish a mere paragraph.

Instead, I’ve been spending most of my free time reading old classics and frolicking the mountain ridges.

Lately, I feel that I am quite literally gone with the wind.
